Today, the common way to generate Netflow statistics is utilizing routers with NetFlow support. However, most of them is limited in number of processed flows and packets, which are usually sampled. The sample rate is growing with the increasing link speed and decreasing precision of measured statistic data. Furthemore, the main disadvantage of routers with NetFlow support is their fixed position and visibility on L3 layer making them easy targets for hackers. Last but not least, the routing performance is usualy decreased with NetFlow monitoring activated.
The INVEA-TECH complete network monitoring solution FlowMon solves all of the above problems. The FlowMon solution includes high-perfomance standalone probes for all network types up to 10 Gbps; collectors for statistics storage, visualization and analysis; and plugins extending FlowMon capabilites.
