FlowMon Collector

FlowMon collector is a stand-alone server dedicated for collection, long-term storage and analysis of NetFlow statistics from FlowMon probes. For this puprose it is equipped with a huge disk capacity with RAID support. Network monitoring with multiple probes and one or more collectors is a professional solution for medium to large businesses. User can choose between NetFlow data analysis tools run on collector. He can use FlowMon Monitoring Center, Caligare Flow Inspector or any other NetFlow-compatible third party product. These tools differs in a way they store statistic data and in a user interface, which enables administrators, operators or managers to simply and quickly visualize the collected statistics. With special filters, the users are able to select particular communications based on source or destination host, used protocol, start time or many other properties acquireable by NetFlow technology. To make the network supervision more effective, those tools also offers automatic notification and alert sending in cases of anomalies or suspicious traffic.

The FlowMon collector is also used as a central point of network service and probes configuration. Intuitive web interface enables user to supervise all FlowMon probes, especially the export settings configuration and system load checking. By this interface, the user is able to export and import particular settings to speed-up the multiple probes configuration.

FlowMon Collector connection

FlowMon Collector is delivered in several hardware configurations differing in a disk space capacity and RAID type. A basic configuration is offered as a compact 1U solution with RAID0 or RAID1 software support. The basic configuration is recommended for networks with small number of probes and short NetFlow data history (FlowMon Collector R0-1000 and R1-500). As the number of probes is increasing and the data history is extended, an advanced model of collector is recommended. The advanced model is offered as a 2U solution with RAID5 software support (FlowMon R5-2000). For large networks with lots of probes, the complex user request can cause intensive disk utilisation increasing the computation time. In this case, we recommend collectors with RAID5 hardware support and fast SAS hard discs (FlowMon Collector R5-2000 Pro and SR5-1200 Pro).

FlowMon Monitoring Center

FlowMon monitoring center (FMC) is a professional tool for efective NetFlow statics analysis. It is optimalized for storing and processing high amounts of statistical data. For this reason, it is suitable for both networks with small and high number of probes. The traffic history and statistics are depicted in transparent graphs and tables in various time windows. FMC further allows advanced users to specify requests and filters on stored NetFlow data that enables those users to easily and quickly find particular communications, incidents or anomalies. The captured NetFlow data are stored in NfDump format, so users are free to use a large variety of NfDump-based tools to improve the functionality of FlowMon collector.

Caligare Flow Inspector

Caligare Flow Inspector (CFI) is professional tool enabling user to visualize basic graphs and tables about captured NetFlow traffic.
