NIFIC Appliance

The NIFIC is an appliance for wire speed packet filtering,  forwarding and capturing of 10GbE networks. The filtering is L3 and L4 based and guarantees 20Gbps performance for up to 1000 filtering rules. The packet capture supports cropping/slicing and high throughput to the host memory.

The NIFIC full line rate filtering is based on:

• src and dst MAC addresses,
• src and dst IP addresses including its ranges,
• src and dst ports including its ranges,
• protocols,
• TCP flags and
• input interfaces.

The filtering rules can be changed atomically without packet loss.

The NIFIC supports packet replication, packet cropping and packet capturing using the industry standard format – PCAP. The target NIFIC applications are lawful interception, packet sniffing, load balancing, filtering, firewalling and more.
