COMBO cards - development and commercial FPGA boards
The family of COMBO cards have been developed to accelerate time-critical and high-speed applications especially from the network area (1-10 gigabit network processing). The product range consists of three main families:
- The powerful FPGA mothercards (COMBO6X, COMBO6E) designed as a PCI acceleration boards. The COMBO6X/E boards are aimed to speed up PC performance and can be used either alone as a hardware coprocessor or with add-on cards as a programmable network adapters.
- The Network interface add-on cards (COMBO-2XFP, COMBO-4SFPRO) with various network technologies support (1 Gbps copper/optical, 10 Gbps optical, SONET/SDH). The add-on cards provide physical network interfaces to the mothercards.
- The Special cards (COMBO-BOOT, COMBO-PTM) aimed for specific applications.

COMBO-4SFPRO card is equipped with
- Virtex II - XC2VP20 (the series up to XC2VP30 can be used)
- 2xSSRAM - 2MB 512K36
- 1xEEPROM - 93S66
- 4xXFP cages
- Connector to the mother card
- COMBO-4SFPRO is an add-on card with four SFP cages for GE or OC48 interfaces. Multimode, monomode, CWDM or copper transceivers can be used.
Special cards
COMBO-BOOT card is equipped with
- 2xPower supply (input voltage 12-30V)
- TI processor - MSP430FI49IPM
- RS232 interface
- Connector for add-on cards
COMBO-BOOT is a card designed as power supply and booting device for COMBO add-on cards. It is intended to support applications that can work without the COMBO6 card and without host PC computer.
COMBO-PTM card is equipped with
- Spartan3 - X3S200 (alternatively X3S400)

- PCI interface chip PCI9054
- CLPD - XCR3256XL
- 1xEEPROM - 93S66

COMBO-PTM is a PCI(32/33) card with XILINX Spartan3 FPGA, an embedded processor, a precise crystal and several connectors. The card was developed as a source of precise timestamps, but can also be used as a universal accelerated interface card.
